Are you a practical, hands-on Project Manager with a passion for engineering and innovation?
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with an engineering background to help support our innovative client in delivering a range of different projects.
From concept to commissioning, as a Project Manager, this is your chance to oversee a range of projects delivering first class customer service.
Project Manager - What You’ll Be Doing:
Working with the engineering lead, ensure project deliverables are clear, managed and adhered to throughout the project timeline.
Feed into and support engineering designs/concepts providing insight and direction where needed.
Working with internal teams to ensure project deliverables are clear, managed and adhered to throughout the project timeline.
Support in the creation of Testing plans, timing and testing to include concern resolution.
Create project schedules to follow and communicate to all involved.
Create, maintain and communicate project focused metrics highlighting status, areas of concern, wins and next steps.
Aligning with finance, ensuring budgets are communicated, adhered to and that any deviations are managed appropriately.
Support in the resolution of complex issues providing engineering direction and solutions.
Implement and manage project related concern tracking to ensure minimal impact to cost, quality or delivery.
Coordinate any production build deviations, agree containments/permanent corrective actions and record for future use.
Implement regular customer reviews to communicate status, raise issues, agree content working towards contract alignment.
Manage project related items in the project List of Open Points (LOP) ensuring good communication and that progress is tracked/pushed.
Key requirements of the Project Manager role:
Engineering Degree (or equivalent), ideally within mechanical or electrical engineering.
Demonstrable engineering experience to provide input into designs, cross-vehicle engineering and complex issue resolution
Real world engineering in their DNA – needs to be passionate about engineering and have demonstrable practical experience
A good technical understanding of vehicles, manufacturing processes, cars and/or trains
Demonstrable ability to work on multiple parallel projects
Be methodical with a passion for detail
Strong technical/practical ability
A confident team player with confidence to talk to people at all levels
High IT competency including Microsoft Project and Excel
Flexibility regarding working hours, deadlines and travelling
Full UK driving licence with a willingness to travel
