Technical Author - Inorganic chemicals - UK BAT - 32437
Do you want to make a lasting positive change to the environment? As a Technical Author in the UK BAT team you can do just that.
Large Volume Inorganic Chemicals (LVIC) installations are required to use ‘Best Available Techniques’ (BAT) to reduce emissions to air, water and land. We’ve established a process for the definition of BAT within the UK and are looking for a UK BAT Author to draft BAT Conclusions, liaise with Technical Working Groups and present a final document suitable for publication as a new, UK wide, environmental standard for industry.
Responsibilities
* Draft BAT Conclusions and develop supporting documents.
* Collaborate with Technical Working Groups to collect and analyse data.
* Prepare and deliver clear, accurate written documentation for publication.
* Manage projects, set timelines, and drive completion of deliverables.
* Travel occasionally to meetings and events as required.
* Support inclusive incident management and training as part of personal development.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years of working experience in the LVIC industry.
* Solid understanding of LVIC environmental regulation and UK/EU legislation, including IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
* Strong technical writing and communication skills.
* Ability to critically analyse technical arguments and data.
* Project management experience with a focused drive to deliver results.
* Knowledge of process engineering and environmental issues.
* Capacity to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
* Experience in influencing decisions and presenting arguments persuasively.
Compensation and Contract
Contract length: up to 2 years from appointment.
Full‑time position.
