Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Structural Steel Location: Stocksbridge, UK Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Contract Type: Permanent About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Stocksbridge, specialising in structural steel projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management, contract administration, and procurement for structural steel fabrication and construction projects. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost reports for structural steel projects. Monitor project expenditure, manage variations, and ensure projects remain within budget. Conduct valuations, interim payments, and final account settlements. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to resolve cost and contract issues. Review and analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications. Support procurement processes and subcontractor negotiations. Maintain accurate cost records and provide regular reports to senior management. Candidate Requirements: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in structural steel or heavy fabrication projects. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement practices. Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong communication skills for client and subcontractor liaison.
