As we expand our reach and continue to build our team, we are looking for a Community & Events Activation Manager to join our Loughborough office.
The Role
We’re looking for an energetic, people-first team member to help grow the community presence around some of our biggest running events.
This is a highly varied role combining community engagement, grassroots marketing, volunteer recruitment, local partnerships, and event delivery.
The role will be based from our Loughborough office one day per week as a minimum, with additional travel across the Midlands and wider UK. You’ll spend time on the road visiting event locations and host towns and cities across the UK, building relationships with local running clubs, community groups, businesses, charities, and volunteers to help create memorable event experiences. The event participation requirement for this role will be approximately 20 event weekends per year and will be best suited to someone who is highly people-focused and enjoys a hands-on role with a lot of variety.
You’ll be the key link between our events and the communities that host them.
Key Responsibilities
* Visiting host towns and cities ahead of our larger events
* Building relationships with running clubs, community groups, scout groups, charities, and local organisations
* Recruiting and coordinating volunteer groups
* Organising local marketing activations including posters, banners, flyers, and in-town promotion
* Leading our “Medal Madness” local business engagement campaign
* Identifying opportunities for local sponsors, partners, and community collaborations
* Attending major events throughout the year to support delivery and community engagement
* Acting as a visible, approachable point of contact within event villages and on event weekends.
Skills & Experience Required
* Confident speaking to new people and building relationships quickly
* Organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently
* Happy travelling regularly and working at live events
* Passionate about community, sport, and participation events
* Practical, adaptable, and willing to get stuck in
* Driving license and owning a car are essential.
