The Directors of Exceed Learning Partnership and Governors of The Mallard Academy are looking to appoint an experienced Business Manager to contribute to the academy’s further development in the year ahead. The Mallard Academy is part of Exceed Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust that currently comprises of 10 Academies, Bentley High Street Primary School, Carr Lodge Academy, Edlington Victoria Academy, Hall Cross Academy, Hill Top Academy, The Mallard Academy Rosedale Primary School, Sandringham Primary School, Sheep Dip Lane Academy, and Willow Primary School. As the Academy Business Manager, you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), responsible for the strategic direction and operation of all non-curriculum aspects of the school. This is a critical role that ensures our resources are managed effectively to provide the very best learning environment for our pupils. Key Responsibilities Financial Management : Overseeing all school finances, including budget setting, monitoring, reporting, and managing the school's long-term financial strategy. HR and Personnel : Managing all HR processes, including recruitment, contracts, payroll information, and staff well-being initiatives, in line with legal requirements. Premises Management : Working with our Estates department to ensure the school premises, facilities, and resources are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with all health and safety regulations. Administration : Overseeing and improving the efficiency of the school’s administrative functions. Strategy and Compliance : Working alongside the Headteacher and Governors to develop and implement the school's strategic plan and ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements. What We Are Looking for In Our Ideal Candidate: Proven experience in a business, financial, or management role, preferably within an education or public sector setting. Excellent knowledge of financial planning, budget management, and accounting principles. Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to manage staff effectively (e.g., admin, site, catering). Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in relevant IT systems A relevant professional qualification (e.g., DSBM, or equivalent accounting/business qualification) is highly desirable. A proactive, solutions-focused, and resilient approach. The ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with staff, pupils, parents, governors, and external stakeholders. A genuine commitment to supporting the ethos and success of a primary school environment.
