The Role

This post is to manage own specialist caseload, using evidence-based practice and person-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings. You will Provide day to day supervision for occupational therapy staff, support staff and students. You will also provide specialist clinical intervention and consultation to occupational therapy staff and other disciplines.

Duties may vary depending on the care group / clinical specialty / assigned area of work

The working pattern for this role is - Monday - Friday

In this key role, you will:

Within NHS Lanarkshire, the department delivers Occupational Therapy services across the whole population (approx. 644,00) including acute, community and primary care services. It is structured into care groups as outlined within the section 4 (Organisational Chart). It is a hosted service and is operationally accountable to the Head of Health and Social Care and professionally accountable to the AHP director.

What You'll Bring:

  • Direct exposure to unpleasant smells, body fluids, waste or hospital acquired infections.
  • Risk of direct exposure to abusive and aggressive behaviour from patients, relatives and carers.
  • Requirement to drive across Lanarkshire
  • Utilise a range of equipment and machinery in hospital and community environments which is specific to the clinical area and may vary depending on the needs of the service.
  • A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
