The Senior Technical Services Manager will lead the design, coordination, and delivery of all Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services on commercial fit-out projects across ODInteriors and ODCreate. This role is responsible for ensuring that all building services are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance, while adhering to project timelines and budgets.
This role requires a technically strong leader with hands-on experience in managing complex building services from design through to completion, ensuring technical compliance, coordination, and seamless integration with architectural and interior elements.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Pre-Construction
* Lead MEP design coordination during early design and pre-construction stages.
* Review and validate consultants’ or subcontractors’ designs for compliance, buildability, and efficiency.
* Provide technical input during the tendering process and support design development with the internal design team.
* Oversee MEP scope definition, tender documentation, and procurement strategy.
* Ensure all designs meet client brief, statutory regulations, and sustainability standards.
Project Delivery
* Manage MEP delivery across multiple fit-out projects, ensuring technical excellence, programme adherence, and cost control.
* Oversee installation quality and ensure systems are fully coordinated with architectural, structural, and interior design elements.
* Chair regular coordination and technical review meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
* Lead commissioning, testing, and handover processes, ensuring full compliance and system functionality.
* Maintain strong relationships with key supply chain partners and drive performance through collaboration and accountability.
Leadership & Strategy
* Provide mentorship and technical support to the wider project management and design teams.
* Contribute to continuous improvement in ODGroup’s technical delivery processes, standards, and documentation.
* Advise on new technologies, sustainable building services solutions, and industry best practices.
* Support business development and client presentations where technical input is required.
Skills & Experience
* Proven track record in MEP management within the commercial fit-out and design & build environment.
* Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and public health systems, as well as building controls and sustainability principles.
* Experience leading technical coordination across complex, fast-paced projects.
* Excellent understanding of design management, commissioning, and compliance requirements.
* Ability to interpret and critique detailed technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* Membership of CIBSE or similar professional body (desirable).
