<div><h3>Position Overview</h3><p><b>Assistant Psychologist</b>– 37.5 hour permanent contract within the Community Adult Autism Service (CAAS) at Dorset HealthCare NHS Trust.</p><p>The team delivers a specialist multi-professional service for autistic adults, providing diagnosis, assessment, consultancy, signposting, training and therapeutic support.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Complete triage assessments for new referrals.</li><li>Manage the service database.</li><li>Carry out specialist Theory of Mind assessments.</li><li>Conduct audits and contribute to the weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.</li><li>Provide therapeutic work with individuals and groups when required.</li><li>Shape the new neuro‑developmental pathway, co‑produce resources with service users, and support the 2‑year quality improvement initiative.</li><li>Travel across West and East Dorset, attending face‑to‑face or remote appointments; own car essential.</li><li>May close early if a high volume of applications is received – submit promptly.</li></ul><h3>Required Qualifications and Experience</h3><ul><li>Single Honours in Psychology 2:1 or higher from an accredited university.</li><li>Good working knowledge and experience of Neurodivergent/Neurodevelopmental conditions.</li><li>Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by the Trust) or a valid DBS certificate.</li><li>Willingness to travel widely across the county.</li></ul><h3>Benefits and Working Conditions</h3><ul><li>Weekly supervision with a qualified Clinical Psychologist.</li><li>Car essential for business use; travel across West and East Dorset required.</li></ul><h3>Equal Opportunities</h3><p>Dorset HealthCare is an equal opportunity employer.
