An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager 6‑month secondment in the DBIT North team. The Divisional Based Intervention Team (DBIT) Core Service is a countywide edge‑of‑care secondary service comprising of four quadrant‑based teams. Each team works closely with referring teams in the area focussing on whole family work where a child or children are at risk of a reactive care episode due to relationship breakdown or other complex circumstances. The service works with children aged 8 years and above, and their families, using primarily a Solution Focused Approach as its methodology of intervention.
The role is pivotal in guiding, supporting and nurturing high‑quality Solution Focused intervention work within the team and across the service. Your responsibilities include working across the quadrant and county with colleagues, partners and families to ensure families receive the support they require to protect children from harm, to develop their well‑being and to help families stay together when safe and possible to do so.
Working as part of a highly supportive team, you will ensure all practitioners’ well‑being is high on the agenda, that families receive the service at the right level, and that interventions are proportionate and promote desired change. To support this the team manager is expected to be in the office a minimum of 3‑4 days per week.
The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area, including travelling around Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings and being able to respond in an emergency. A driving licence and a car, or the ability to meet mobility requirements through other means, is essential.
Essex County Council is proud to be a Disability Confident Leader and is committed to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum requirements. We also welcome veterans and care leavers who meet the role’s requirements. If your role requires a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service.
Benefits may include support for unpaid carers and flexible working arrangements to accommodate personal needs.
