We are seeking a professional self starter to join a progressive manufacturer based in Telford.
This role of production manager - NIGHTS is imperative to the PM operation of the group.
The role would ideally suit someone from a manufacturing or engineering background with a proven history of managing people effectively,
Key Responsibilities
Night Shift Works Manager/Production Manager
Lead by example to maintain a safe and efficient workplace at all times.
Consistently meet company quality standards, ensuring satisfaction for both internal and external customers.
Establish and enforce production standards to deliver reliable, high-quality service.
Supervise staff and manage workflow to achieve timely output of manufactured products.
Drive operational throughput by monitoring performance, meeting targets, and eliminating rework.
Communicate clear job expectations, plan and assess performance, and develop employees through coaching and mentorship.
Optimise processes and resources by setting processing variables, monitoring control points, and implementing cost-saving measures.
Develop and maintain robust reporting procedures, troubleshoot process malfunctions, and foster cross-departmental collaboration.
Execute production plans by scheduling personnel, prioritising tasks, tracking progress, and resolving issues in real time.
Coordinate equipment maintenance, evaluate new technologies, and ensure uninterrupted operations.
Analyse production data to generate actionable reports, respond to inquiries, and support strategic decisions.
Design and refine systems, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and align with budget and staffing requirements.
Conduct research to identify process improvements and reduce unnecessary costs.
Promote a clean, compliant work environment through training and strict adherence to safety protocols.
Resolve personnel issues by investigating root causes, proposing solutions, and recommending corrective actions.
Enhance professional expertise by attending workshops and reviewing industry publications.
Support team objectives by contributing to cross-functional initiatives and delivering results as needed.
Skills required for production manager/night shift manager
Must have good experience of manufacturing and/or engineering processes within the metals industry
Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 would be a distinct advantage

Ability to work unsupervised
