Macgregor Black are partnering with a growing consumer brand on the search for a National Account Manager - Grocer. This is a permanent role based in United Kingdom. The National Account Manager - Grocer will have a high impact commercial role focused on identifying, developing, and winning new retail partnerships. You will be at the forefront of driving growth, building new business pipelines, and broadening the company’s retail footprint. This role offers a rare opportunity to join a growing premium brand while being given the autonomy and support to make a real mark. Key Responsibilities: Identify, approach, and secure new grocer accounts, driving penetration across major UK supermarkets and strengthening the brand’s retail presence. Reignite and grow underperforming grocer relationships through proactive engagement, collaborative planning, and commercially aligned reactivation initiatives. Develop customer-specific growth plans that reflect the brand’s positioning and deliver clear, data-led commercial opportunities within the grocery channel. Lead compelling category-focused presentations that demonstrate a strong command of shopper behaviour, pricing dynamics, and market trends. Partner with Marketing, Category, and Product teams to support NPD launches, range reviews, and in-store activation tailored to grocer requirements. Analyse EPOS, retailer insight platforms, and market data to highlight range gaps, category opportunities, and performance improvements that elevate business proposals. Negotiate listings, terms, and promotional plans that deliver sustainable profitability and long-term value for both the brand and its grocer partners. Build and maintain influential multi-level relationships across buying, trading, and category teams within major supermarkets. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Commercial teams to ensure accurate forecasting, smooth product flow, and effective promotional execution across all grocer accounts. Work closely with the UK Head of Sales to support onboarding, growth planning, and ongoing stewardship of key grocery customers. Champion the brand’s category narrative in all customer interactions, reinforcing its leadership in quality, innovation, and consumer-driven value. Represent the business at trade shows, retailer meetings, and category events as a credible ambassador for the brand. Provide clear, consistent updates to senior leadership on account performance, pipeline development, and strategic progress. What We’re Looking For: Business Development Excellence – proven success launching and growing major grocer accounts on a national scale. Strategic Selling – capable of shaping and delivering commercially sound plans that align brand goals with retailer priorities. Negotiation & Influence – experienced in achieving listings, driving distribution, and managing JBPs with leading supermarkets. Commercial Acumen – strong grasp of grocer P&Ls, trade terms, pricing structures, and margin management. Category Insight – understanding of grocery-led categories within FMCG, including shopper behaviour and retailer expectations. Brand Storytelling – confident delivering clear, persuasive account presentations that balance data, insight, and brand narrative. Collaborative Leadership – able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams to support best-in-class execution. Wellbeing Advocacy – motivated by helping consumers make better choices that support healthier everyday living.
