Customer Team Member (18+) SPAR Thurcroft
Step up to Duty Manager. 20 hours p/w - more when needed. Shifts between 6am-10pm. Must be willing to undertake post office vetting and work on the post office when needed. We have an exciting opportunity for a SPAR Customer Team Member. As a Customer Team Member at SPAR Thurcroft, you will play a vital role in supporting our store management team and creating a positive customer experience. You will assist in maximising sales and profit by carrying out allocated tasks in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of the store, ensuring great customer service, through “Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food for later and Food for now!”
Key Tasks / Responsibilities
* Customer Service: Greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner; answering inquiries about products and services and assisting customers in finding items; processing purchases efficiently and accurately through tills; upselling selected products and highlighting multi-buy offers to maximise sales at the Thurcroft SPAR store
* Store Operations: Stock handling and deliveries, stocking shelves, maintaining a clean and organised sales floor, rotating stock to ensure freshness and timely expiration dates; completing additional tasks such as date checking, stock checks, price changes, promotional displays and other tasks as required; adhering to all company policies and processes
Key Skills / Knowledge
* Previous experience in a similar role and/or industry is preferred
* Reliably follows instructions and procedures with excellent attention to detail
* Understanding of retail legislative responsibilities and the ability to assist with adherence
* Ability to contribute ideas for delivering exceptional customer service and driving the business forward
* Experience with a ‘Challenge 25’ policy is desirable
* Keen and enthusiastic approach to working both in a team and independently
* Cash handling experience is preferred but not essential
