We're seeking an Interim Chief Executive Officer for our public sector client on an initial 9-month contract, paying market rates (day rate or FTC salary option).
This role offers hybrid working with an expectation to attend key meetings onsite within the region.
The Interim CEO will provide strategic leadership during a period of significant change and transformation, working closely with senior stakeholders and elected leaders to establish effective governance, drive organisational readiness, and ensure delivery of strategic priorities.
You will be an experienced, politically astute leader with a track record of operating successfully at Chief Executive / Senior Executive level within complex public sector organisations. The role demands excellent system leadership, the ability to influence nationally and regionally, and proven experience in managing large-scale change at pace.
The successful CEO will demonstrate:
• Executive leadership experience within local government or wider public sector
• Strong political awareness and credibility operating at the most senior levels
• Experience of leading transformation and organisational setup/transition
• Financial stewardship and statutory responsibility oversight
• Proven ability to build trust and alignment across multiple stakeholders
