An opportunity has arisen within Clinical Investigation Unit (CIU) for an Healthcare Scientist Support Worker working within Cardio/Respiratory services for the Community Diagnostic Centre. The CIU works across 3 UHMBT sites –Furness General Hospital (FGH) Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) and Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI). The successful applicants will be required to work on the above locations although it is anticipated that the post will be centred on the RLI site. As an Healthcare Scientist Support Worker you will be required to provide support to the clinical physiology team, working in areas such as Electrocardiograms (ECG), ambulatory ECG and BP hook up, prolonged ECG monitoring (Alivecor and Diagnosticks), spirometry and FeNO and sleep studies. To work effectively and efficiently as part of a team within Clinical Investigations Unit (CIU), ensuring a high-quality service is provided to patients attending the department. Perform 12 lead ECG in a variety of clinical settings and run ambulatory monitor diagnostic, alivercor and dignostics, BP, spirometry, FeNO and sleep clinics. Work alongside other colleagues, clinicians, the patient and their relatives. To assist in the professional and operational delivery of the service within CIU, including shared allocation of work and training of other staff. 37.5 hours over 5 day working pattern. We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
