We are currently recruiting on behalf of our clients based in Ely who are looking for a Financial Accountant on a full-time basis. This role is office-based and will suit someone with experience in a similar finance/accounting role, ideally within a not-for-profit or public sector organisation.
Typical duties include:
• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards
• Managing the general ledger and ensuring month-end and year-end processes are completed accurately
• Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Monitoring budgets, providing variance analysis, and supporting budget holders
• Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Processing purchase requests, purchase orders, and invoices, and maintaining accounts payable and receivable
• Supporting internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and working papers
• Participating in projects and providing cover for the finance team as needed
• Providing guidance and support to junior finance staff and other colleagues
You will have:
• A professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
• Previous experience in a financial accounting role, ideally within a not-for-profit or public sector setting
• The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders
• A proactive and adaptable approach with a willingness to support across the finance function
