Undertaking legal advice and support to clients in a wide range of litigation matters, including homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions (for access to property and anti-social behaviour), traveller encampments, and regulatory prosecutions. Responsibilities include conducting legal proceedings and representing the Council in court.
Providing advice and assistance to clients on education matters, particularly challenges related to SEND and EHC Assessments.
Supporting junior colleagues and legal assistants within the department. The role may also suit a junior officer seeking to develop knowledge and skills in these areas, offering opportunities to assist and support senior officers and work closely with them. There may also be opportunities to develop skills in Court of Protection work related to adult social care.
