Job Summary
We are looking for motivated and dynamic Nursing Support Workers to join our dedicated teams in Withybush General Hospital. Vacancies are available in the following areas:
* Emergency Department
* Ward 1 – Trauma and Orthopaedic ward specialising in trauma and elective procedures
* Ward 4 – Surgical Ward specialising in General and Colorectal
* Ward 7 – Acute medical ward specialising in Gastroenterology
* Ward 10 – Oncology, Haematology & General Medical
* Ward 11 – Hyper Acute Stroke/ Rehabilitation

Main Duties
This role will require you to undertake delegated clinical observations, communicate effectively and operate within a variety of shift patterns including days/night rotation.
Welsh Language Requirement
Welsh Language Level 1 is essential for this role. The level 1 matrix includes pronunciation, greeting, basic everyday words and simple verbal requests.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake delegated clinical observations and provide direct patient care
* Communicate effectively with staff and patients
* Work within a range of shift patterns to meet service requirements
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject or equivalent experience with evidence of work‑based competency
* Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW)
* Knowledge of safeguarding policies, data protection (GDPR) and relevant procedures
Experience
* Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment providing direct patient care
Desirable
* Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice
* Experience of working within the NHS
Language Skills
* Welsh speaker (Level 1)
Shift Patterns
* Ability to work a range of shift patterns
