Role Description
R&I are seeking a REF SPRE Manager who will play a key role in supporting the Strategy, People and Research Environment element of our institutional submission to REF2029. Working with the RKE Excellence Manager, the successful candidate will liaise with colleagues across the University to manage the coordination and drafting of the narrative elements of both the institutional and unit level statements. They will also support the identification and gathering of data for the quantitative elements of the submission and will serve as the central contact point for advice and guidance on the SPRE element of REF. The role requires supporting the RKE Excellence Manager in the delivery of SPRE review activities at the University.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and draft narrative elements for institutional and unit‑level REF statements
* Collect and analyze data for quantitative analysis in REF submission
* Provide advice and guidance on the SPRE element of REF to stakeholders
* Support delivery of SPRE review activities across the University
* Contribute to committees supporting REF governance and process improvement
Qualifications & Skills
* Highly organized, motivated, and able to manage multiple activities simultaneously
* Calm under pressure, able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills with a wide range of colleagues
* Confident using data tools such as Excel, SharePoint and other digital platforms to maintain clear records
