Full Job Description
Position: Stock Controller
Based: Vale Business Park, Evesham
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (30-minute lunch break)
Reporting to: Shift Managers
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Stock Controller to work within our warehouse, executing control measures to maximise stock accuracy. The successful candidate will create, implement, and regularly review detailed and robust procedures covering all aspects of stock management and control.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and have an analytical and methodical approach to problem-solving. Strong teamwork, organisational, communication, and IT skills are essential.
Main Duties:
. Ensure the integrity of the stock control system, maintaining accurate records in line with company policy.
. Efficiently utilise warehouse space to optimise storage.
. Undertake daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts.
. Manage goods inward and goods outward check procedures.
. Oversee stock movement between different locations.
. Ensure safe storage and correct labelling of stock.
. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and reported picking/packing issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
. Complete all stock control administrative tasks daily.
. Suggest and implement improvements to reduce stock losses and discrepancies.
. Play a key role in preparation for the year-end stock audit.
. Maintain high standards of health, safety, and security in the workplace.
. Process customer returns from start to finish.
. Support day-to-day warehouse operations (Pick/Pack/Build).
. Provide cover for shift managers as required.
. Open and close the site when necessary.
. Assign tasks (Pick/Pack/Build).
. Handle customer service queries.
. Create works orders as needed.
. Perform manual handling tasks when counting or moving stock.
Skills and Experience Required:
. Previous experience in warehouse stock control and stock management (essential).
. Experience using RF WMS stock control systems (essential).
. Strong organisational and time management skills.
. Excellent attention to detail.
. Analytical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
. Hands-on attitude and ability to multitask.
. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
. Self-motivated and improvement-driven.
. Strong communication skills.
. Proficient IT skills, including RF WMS and Microsoft Office.
. FLT licences are an advantage.
