Clinical Nurse Specialist - Midlands Specialist Prison Service
Areyou an experienced palliative care nurse with a passion for innovation andimprovement? Marie Curie seeks a motivated, enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the MidlandsSpecialist Prison Service.
You will be workingautonomously and independently as clinical nurse specialist across a cohort ofprisons in the Midlands place. Our ideal candidate would be passionate aboutempowering and enabling the Prison healthcare staff to provide palliative carealigned to the Dying Well in Custody Charter, completing holistic assessments,advanced care planning, providing emotional support and record keeping.
Main duties of the job
A key part of the rolewill also be building strong professional relationships with the Prison HealthCare teams and Healthcare Advocates, to provide vital education and support toinfluence long term change in end-of-life care within the prison environment.
You will work closelywith the prison healthcare teams, the HMP CNS team, as well as other teammembers including administration, reporting directly to the Hospice clinicallead.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Develop nursing staffand multidisciplinary team members through support, advice, education,reflective practice, and clinical supervision.
* Provide holisticspecialist palliative care advice to patients and their families.
* Lead and innovatenursing practice within the speciality.
* Develop policies andevidence-based practices as appropriate.
* Contribute to thedevelopment and smooth running of the service.

Job Structure: Permanent; PartTime 14 Hours/Week
Shifts : Monday to Friday, 9:00am 5:00pm
Salary : Marie CurieClinical Pay Scale Band 7 (Aligned with AFC) £47,810 - £54,710 Per Annum, PlusEnhancements
Based : Community Based - Midlands
Whatwe are looking for:
* NMC Registered Nurse with a Clinical NurseSpecialist qualification.
* Good knowledge of professional accountabilityand responsibility and the limitations of the role.
* Recent/current experience in SpecialistPalliative Care and Caseload Management.
* Ability to work collaboratively in achallenging environment
* Strong communication and training skills
* Commitment to continuous improvement andsharing best practices
* Quality improvement and service implementationexperience desirable.
* Valid driver's license and caraccess
