Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled PHP Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in web development and be proficient in various programming languages and frameworks. As a PHP Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining web applications that meet the needs of our clients. You will work closely with other developers, designers, and stakeholders to create high-quality software solutions.
Duties
* Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and associated technologies.
* Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
* Write clean, scalable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices in software development.
* Participate in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), from concept through deployment.
* Conduct unit testing to ensure the functionality and reliability of applications.
* Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimise performance.
* Implement RESTful APIs and work with various databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
* Utilise version control systems such as Git or SVN for code management.
* Engage in wireframing and UI/UX design processes to enhance user experience.
* Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve skills.
Qualifications
* Proficient in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL; experience with frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony is advantageous.
* Familiarity with front-end technologies including Angular, React, jQuery, Bootstrap, and AJAX.
* Experience with content management systems like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla is a plus.
* Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or Azure for application deployment.
* Understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD using tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
* Experience with data visualisation techniques and tools is beneficial.
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools such as Jira or Trello is preferred.
* Basic understanding of system architecture principles and web services (SOAP/REST).
