You don’t need experience for this role, just loads of enthusiasm and a desire to learn.As a Business Administrator apprentice, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the organisation while learning a wide range of practical business skills. You’ll work with different teams, communicate with colleagues and customers, and help keep processes running smoothly.Upon successful completion you will have a Advanced Apprenticeship, taking your first steps towards a career in business administration or management.
What it's like to work here
The MRB project team, work within a wider portfolio including Birmingham, Solihull and Coventry. You will have the chance to be part of a larger team, experiencing the many different roles that exist within the National Trust. As part of this, some travel across the portfolio may be required. The position will allow you to work flexibly with a mix of working from home, Roundhouse Birmingham and attending construction visits in Balsall Heath.
You will be contributing to finance management, Risk and Issue Management, Change Control, Site Access, Marketing and Communication, Project Management Office and so much more.
What you'll be doing
Working alongside your mentor on tasks specific to your apprenticeship, you will develop the skills & knowledge relevant to the apprenticeship standard Business Administrator Level 3.Your apprenticeship training will be delivered by a Learning Coach, with teaching and learning sessions held online, lots of on-the-job learning and support every day in the workplace.You’ll attend regular review meetings and be accountable for your own progression. You’ll be required to complete mandatory e-learning, courses and training provided.
Who we're looking for
We would love to hear from you if you meet the following eligibility criteria by the start date of the role:
1. A minimum of 5 GCSE’s which must include English and maths at grade C/4, functional skills level 2 or equivalent
2. (If you hold an EHCP, Entry Level 3 in English and maths is acceptable.)
3. Aged 16 or over and have completed year 11
4. Not in full time education
5. Have the right to work in the UK and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for three consecutive years before starting the apprenticeship
6. Not currently on any other training or education programme (e.g. another apprenticeship or a degree)
7. Able to travel to work location
If you are aged 18 or under at the point of enrolment and have not achieved English and maths at grade C/4, you may be enrolled on functional skills level 2 as part of your apprenticeship. This role will start in September 2026 and runs for 18 months.
