Consultant Psychiatrist General Adult CMHT

Main duties of the job
Duties will be in line with those of a Consultant Psychiatrist in a community setting. The post holder will work with the MDT colleagues and other agencies to deliver safe and effective care to patients referred to secondary care with psychotic and mood disorders, trauma based presentations and personality disorder. The post holder will provide regular clinical reviews and provide clinical leadership to the MDT. Given the nature of the work, there will be responsibilities in relation to the Mental Health Act (CTOs). Post holder also provides supervision to junior medical staff. There will be a requirement for significant liaison with colleagues with Inpatient and Crisis services to facilitate transitions, planning care and discharge.

Person Specification
* Qualifications: MBChB; MRCPsych, CCT in WAA psychiatry (or within 6 months), AC and s12 approved (or within 3 months)
* Skills: Evidence of being able to work well in MDT; leadership skills required
* Experience: Predominant experience in general adult psychiatry is essential
