Are you a passionate advocate for public services? Have you experience in working in any of the public services and now looking to make a change? Have you always wanted to get into teaching? Then this could be the role for you.
JOB TITLE: LECTURER PUBLIC SERVICES
HOURS: 37 HOURS PER WEEK (FULL-TIME)
LOCATION: LYNNSPORT, KING'S LYNN
SALARY: £30,530 - £38,500 PER ANNUM
TO START: 26 AUGUST 2025 (TEACHING FROM SEPTEMBER 2025)
We have a rare opportunity to join our highly-skilled and dynamic public services team. Here at the college, we offer a range of qualifications connected to public services, from level 1 to level 3. These courses provide learners with a pathway into the public sector, including the armed forces, police, fire service, and more. They include physical and classroom-based activities and benefit from close links with local public services through visits, guest speakers, and workshops.
Our activities include trips, occasional overnight stays, and the Duke of Edinburgh award.
No teaching experience? Not a problem. We offer comprehensive support, including a bespoke induction and onboarding process to help you gain teaching qualifications.
The successful candidate will have experience working in public services, preferably in the police or fire service. Teaching experience is desirable but not essential, as is experience delivering outdoor activities like the Duke of Edinburgh award.
We support work-life balance and offer flexible working and job share options.
Salary placement will depend on experience and qualifications. Typically, appointments are not made above point 12 (£35,831 FTE) without a level 5 teaching qualification and relevant experience.
We are a community-focused FE College in East England, with a thriving Public Services department. We provide excellent training and a supportive team environment.
BENEFITS
Our package includes 37 days of annual leave, five college closure days, bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time), fee waivers, a contributory pension scheme (Teachers' Pension Scheme, current employer contribution 23.68%), discounts, and a cycle-to-work scheme. We prioritize staff well-being through various programs and resources.
