Offer description

Managing Director – Transaction Advisory (Accounting & Financial Reporting)

We are partnering with a globally recognised, advisory‑led investment banking platform to appoint a Managing Director within Transaction Advisory (Accounting & Financial Reporting), to play a central role in building and scaling the practice across the UK and Europe.

This is a senior, front‑end mandate, operating at the intersection of accounting advisory, capital markets and M&A, with direct responsibility for origination, client ownership and revenue generation.

The Opportunity

You will sit at the forefront of a growing European platform, working alongside bankers, sponsors and senior deal professionals across:

* Capital markets transactions (IPOs, SPACs, debt offerings, private placements)
* Divestments, carve‑outs & complex reorganisations
* Financial restructurings and special situations

This role is positioned as a true platform build, with significant white space and the opportunity to establish a market‑leading Transaction Accounting capability in Europe.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

* Lead and scale the UK & European Transaction Advisory (AFR) offering
* Originate and convert revenue opportunities across corporates, sponsors and financial institutions
* Own senior client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to C‑suite stakeholders
* Lead complex, high‑value transaction accounting engagements across M&A and capital markets
* Drive integration with investment banking, restructuring and capital markets teams
* Build, mentor and grow a high‑performing team beneath you
* Contribute to strategy, hiring and long‑term platform development

Technical & Transactional Expertise

Deep, hands‑on experience across complex deal environments, including:

* IFRS 3 – Business Combinations / PPA
* IFRS 9 – Financial Instruments / Debt Accounting
* IAS 28 – Equity Method

Critically, this must be applied in a live transaction context (IPO readiness, carve‑outs, deal execution), not purely technical accounting advisory.

What We’re Looking For

* Partner / MD / Director (step‑up) profile from Big 4 or leading advisory platform
* Strong origination capability and revenue track record
* Deep exposure to deal‑led accounting advisory (M&A, IPOs, carve‑outs)
* Established relationships with sponsors, corporates and/or banking networks
* Proven ability to build and scale teams/platforms
* Credibility operating at C‑suite and sponsor level

Why This Role

* Front‑end, deal‑led advisory platform – not a traditional accounting advisory model
* Direct exposure to bankers, sponsors and live transactions
* Significant white space to build and shape the European practice
* Clear pathway to senior leadership with material earnings upside (towards seven figures)
* Backed by an established global platform with strong deal flow and infrastructure
