We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role involves food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Duties
* Assist in meal preparation and food presentation
* Support catering services by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes
* Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
* Help with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
* Ensure storage areas are organised and stock levels are monitored regularly
* Serve food to customers as required, ensuring high standards of service and presentation
* Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold hygiene standards within the kitchen environment
* Assist with cleaning duties at the end of shifts, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
* Knowledge of food safety protocols and hygiene standards is advantageous
* Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
* Experience in food preparation, serving, or general kitchen work is beneficial
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail
* Flexibility to adapt to busy periods and varied tasks within the kitchen setting
