We are looking for applicants to work as an Assistant Healthcare Scientist within the Microbiology discipline at William Harvey Hospital. There are 3 full-time posts on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
We currently hold UKAS Accreditation and are an IBMS training laboratory.

The laboratory operates 7 days a week, with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. We are seeking applicants to cover various shifts, including 1:4 weekends, bank holidays, and late shifts until 7 pm, with flexible working options within core hours (no night shifts).
The role is based within Microbiology, supporting Biomedical Scientists in specimen reception, and the preparation and examination of biological samples.
The post holder should possess good keyboard skills, high accuracy, and be a team player with a flexible approach. Laboratory experience or an aptitude for science is desirable. Candidates should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent, with a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities include data entry, specimen reception, reagent preparation, general maintenance, and stock control.
