We are accelerating our investments in agentic AI and rethinking our data engineering strategy to support our 2026 goals..
In addition to managing a data engineering team (c.6-c.8), you will also manage a small team of data scientists (1-2) to manage our initiatives in data science - exploring drivers of compensation, reorder rates, customer segmentation and partner segmentation.
These are some of the key components to the position:
* Lead, drive, and support the delivery of Global initiatives within customer services organization with a focus on automation, self-serve, fraud prevention, Agentic AI and enabling data driven decision making
* Provide strategic direction and technical oversight to the Data Engineering team
* Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
* Establish and maintain cross-functional collaboration between different teams
* Act as the main point of contact for Data Engineering-related matters
* Design, review, and evolve processes for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery with a focus on automation and efficiency across batch and streaming systems
* Oversee the technical aspects of data projects, ensuring high standards of quality, performance, and security
* Manage project timelines and resources effectively.Ensure understanding of local business needs and priorities for systems
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Evaluate implementation / integration of emerging technologies such as LLMs
What will you bring to the team?
* Experience in Data Engineering, with demonstrable experience leading and managing Data Engineering teams. Proven experience as a data engineer, software engineer, or data scientist, of which includes experience working as an engineering manager.
* Advanced skills in SQL and experience with relational databases; proficiency in data transformation tools like dbt is highly desirable
* Strong proficiency in Python or similar programming languages. Experience leading data science projects and using DS techniques to drive business insight
* Strong experience designing and scaling data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using tools like Airflow, Databricks, and AWS.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively in a dynamic team environment and interacting with various stakeholders
* Proven ability to lead complex projects, manage resources effectively, and deliver high-quality results on-time in a dynamic high-pace environment
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
