At DerbyMoor Spencer Academy, we take great pride in the facilities that we offer ourstudents. Our school was re-built in 2013 and now features a welcoming entranceplaza, state of the art technology and a diverse range of learning spaces andsports facilities.

We are seeking to appoint an individual:

* To work under theguidance of the class teacher and line manager to plan, guide and monitorstudent’s wellbeing, behaviour for learning and their social skills.
* To superviseactivities, assist with the general management of students in school inconjunction with the teacher and support staff to provide one to one supportfor targeted students, in particular lessons where there are barriers tolearning.
* To support theBehaviour Policy.
* To be aware andrespond appropriately to individual students needs
* To promotepositive behaviour management by modelling and suggesting effective strategieswith Isolation Unit.
* To work as partof the Pastoral and Inclusion Team to provide disaffected/vulnerable studentswith the appropriate support.
* To work withindividuals or small groups of students on behaviour management, angermanagement, developing peer relationships, improving self-esteem etc.
* To managechallenging and extreme behaviour of individual students, setting targets forimprovement on a daily/weekly basis
* To supportstudents in a flexible manner on re-integration into the classroom.
* To be part of thecover / buddy rota for First Aid provision (training will be provided) in theabsence of the Primary First Aider.

Job Description

Behaviour Mentor (Maternity cover); NJC11 - NJC15 (£24,164 - £25,780 actual salary, per annum), 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term Time Only), To start asap
