Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician – RLI

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust are looking for 3 pre‑registration trainee pharmacy technicians to join our pharmacy team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. This is a 2‑year fixed‑term training post with a trainee salary under Annex U/21 of the Agenda for Change.
Salary:
* Year 1 – 70% of the top of Band 4
* Year 2 – 75% of the top of Band 4
Requirements:
* At least 4 GCSEs (grade C or above) in English, Mathematics and Science, or equivalent qualifications.
Main duties of the job
Together with full hospital training, you will study part‑time day release at Kendal College for a Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians. Upon successful completion of the qualification, you will be able to register as a qualified Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
This is a training post; the duties will reflect the progress of the training programme and be undertaken under close instruction and supervision. To work as a member of the Pharmacy team to provide safe, timely, appropriate and high‑quality pharmaceutical services for patients and staff. To participate in providing medication for stock, in‑patients and discharge.
Education and qualifications
* English, Maths and Science to GCSE level (or equivalent) Grade C or above
* NVQ2 in Pharmacy services or working towards
Experience
* Recent experience of working within a pharmacy department in hospital or community
* Experience in Hospital Pharmacy
Skills, ability and knowledge
* Good communication skills, written and oral
* Good IT skills and familiarity with Pharmacy computer system
* Flexibility and ability to work accurately under pressure
* Ability to cope with work, college and study
* Able to prioritise workload
* Knowledge of the JAC, Pharmacy computer system
Personal Qualities
* Reliable, honest, trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality at all times
* Work well as part of a team or alone
* Well motivated and enthusiastic and conscientious
* Ability to work a designated shift pattern inline with the trust’s 7 day working policy
