We have an exciting role on offer within our Children's Services as a Young People's Practitioner. About Us Are you passionate about children and young people in Middlesbrough? Do you want to make a difference in children and young people’s lives by ensuring they receive the right support, at the right time? If so, then we have an exciting opportunity to work within the Work Readiness Team with the Stronger Families Team. The Council has a Statutory responsibility to track and follow up all young people in year 11 and year 12 leavers to ensure that they have a suitable offer of learning (September Guarantee) and this information is reported to the Department for Education. This role requires you to focus on tracking and supporting young people aged 18 – 21 years old for the Tees Valley Youth Trailblazer programme, which is a government pilot to help young people into work and training. The role will include contacting and tracking young people using a range of methods to ensure the destination of all relevant young people is known so that young people can be supported into education, employment or training. The reduction of young people not in either education or training in Middlesbrough is a key priority and this post is essential to service delivery. You will deliver direct support to young people using evidence-based interventions to increase resilience, improve outcomes and support young people into the Tees Valley Youth Trailblazer Programme. You will be responsible for accurate inputting and updating of information on relevant Council IT systems including updating records of all work undertaken following relevant policies and procedures. To develop and maintain knowledge of resources available and provide advice, information and guidance to enable children, young people and families to make informed choices. To work within Middlesbrough Safeguarding Children Procedures.
