Main duties of the job
As a Dementia Nurse Specialist, you will support Barchester's memory lane communities and other facilities requiring specialist dementia intervention. Your responsibilities will include reviewing clinical performance, conducting quality assurance visits, analyzing governance data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing clinical leadership. You will also develop close working relationships with management and support services, integrating current dementia knowledge into practice.

Job responsibilities
* Review clinical performance and develop strategies for regulatory compliance and quality improvement.
* Conduct quality assurance visits and follow up with action plans.
* Analyze governance data to inform clinical improvements.
* Support homes in meeting regulatory and statutory requirements, including dementia training.
* Ensure residents are treated with dignity and receive emotional support.
* Adhere to safeguarding policies and Duty of Candour requirements.
* Integrate current dementia research into practice and develop care projects.
* Provide professional and clinical leadership with a person-centered approach.
* Collaborate with activity teams to deliver engaging activities.
* Support nurse revalidation and contribute to strategic projects.
* Develop relationships with management to address priorities.
* Assist senior staff with investigations or complaints related to dementia care.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RN) with a current NMC PIN.
* At least 5 years of post-registration clinical experience working with people with dementia.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development in dementia care.
* Understanding of regulatory frameworks and ethical/legal issues.
* Experience in coaching and mentorship.
