part of our Customer and Business Support service area. The Team provides a high quality, strategic support function as part of our Customer and Corporate Services Directorate. The Programmes and Change Team forms a significant part of our People and Change function, having a critical role in supporting and enabling the business to deliver on its most complex and challenging business change priorities. The team works closely with all areas of the organisation to deliver the organisation's Target Operating Model and Transformation activity. As the role of the team is to lead this transformation, it is critical that we model the changes we wish to see and work with senior stakeholders to enable them to secure the changes they want to see, and to make those changes sustainable. You will join a diverse team with a range of skills and expertise in a kind and supportive environment. This role will play an important part in driving the Organisation's transformation and enabling our journey towards the Council we Need.
Role & Responsibilities
* Leading the planning, delivery, and monitoring of key project deliverables, including establishing a detailed timeline for the product deliverables in accordance with the project governance, with mapped dependencies, resources and being accountable for escalation points.
* Managing the governance pathway.
* Coordinating activity from cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective implementation of interventions, including the practical delivery of tasks to support the project delivery as identified by the Business Lead.
* Managing project documentation, risk registers, and milestone plans in line with PMO standards.
* Supporting the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) and Business Lead with governance, performance reporting, and benefits realisation.
* Facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment and transparency.
Role Details
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join the Programmes and Change Team for a fixed-term contract until 31 July 2026. This is an opportunity to support two strategic projects aiming to prevent, reduce and delay the need for health and social care services. The first is to implement a business case for home-based prevention and intermediate care, which will include the procurement of multiple health and social care services and the mobilisation of new contracts for Spring 2026, working in partnership with the NHS programme management team. The second project is the development of a new joint carers strategy for children, young people and adults which will include the coordination of governance as part of the business case, the procurement and mobilisation of the new service, and change management of the new delivery model for the Summer 2026.
