Are you an experienced housing professional with a passion for supporting older and vulnerable residents?
We’re working on behalf of a local authority in Hammersmith & Fulham who are looking for a Specialist Housing Officer to join their Neighbourhood Services team, delivering an enhanced housing management service across their sheltered housing schemes.
The Role As a Specialist Housing Officer, you’ll play a key role in improving the quality of life for residents by providing a responsive and high-quality tenancy and estate management service.
You’ll work closely with residents, partner agencies, and colleagues to ensure homes and communal areas are safe, well maintained, and welcoming for older and vulnerable tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver an enhanced housing management service to help residents sustain their tenancies.
Carry out regular inspections to ensure schemes and communal areas are clean, secure, and well maintained.
Support residents with repairs, maintenance issues, and access to housing or support services.
Promote and facilitate social activities that enhance community wellbeing.
Manage the full tenancy process, including sign-ups, transfers, and tenancy changes.
Identify tenancy breaches, ASB, or safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
Monitor rent accounts and take proactive steps to maximise income and prevent arrears.
Build strong working relationships with residents, support agencies, and internal teams to deliver joined-up services.About You We’re looking for someone who is empathetic, proactive, and committed to delivering excellent housing management services.
You’ll ideally have:
Experience in tenancy or housing management, ideally within sheltered or supported housing.
A good understanding of safeguarding principles.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Confidence using IT systems to manage caseloads and record activity.
