An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Paediatric Respiratory Service at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, QMC campus.
We seek an enthusiastic individual passionate about delivering high standards of care. Excellent communication skills are essential. You must be reliable, flexible, and able to work with an experienced clinical support worker as part of a multidisciplinary team. Following training, you will undertake clinical and non-clinical duties, managing the sleep study service and administrative tasks for the respiratory nursing team.
The role is 19.5 hours weekly, over at least 3 days (excluding weekends and bank holidays). The position requires working Friday, with flexibility for other days, ensuring coverage during core hours (9:30-14:00).
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
1. Coordinating sleep studies for children and young people attending Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
2. Running outpatient clinics, demonstrating sleep study equipment use, distributing equipment, and answering queries.
3. Providing administrative support for the sleep study service and respiratory nursing team.
4. Data entry, database maintenance, and supporting quality monitoring.
5. Serving as a point of contact for service users and health professionals.
6. Downloading and uploading sleep study reports to electronic records.
7. Booking and managing appointments.
8. Developing health promotion and education initiatives in collaboration with healthcare professionals, ensuring research-based practice.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Engage with families regarding sleep study referrals, work under supervision, and coordinate sleep studies. Demonstrate equipment use, prioritize urgent cases, download sleep recordings, and maintain equipment. Liaise with medical equipment services, use hospital IT systems, and manage appointments and databases. Contribute to audits, education, and service improvements.
2. Communication
Communicate effectively within the multidisciplinary team, maintain accurate records, and ensure confidentiality. Liaise with other departments for smooth service delivery.
3. Personal Professional
Maintain professional knowledge, complete work to high standards, participate in training and appraisals, and undertake additional duties as required. Participate in educational programs and adhere to policies.
