Abatec Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established engineering firm nestled in within the Mendip Hills who are looking to expand their engineering team.
The workshop engineer will take complete responsibility for repairing electrical motors, pumps and gearboxes and any specific workshop tasks as required by the Supervisor/Manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Undertakes repair of electric motors, pumps and gearboxes.
* Ensures deadlines are met to meet with customer expectation.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as and when needed.
* Overhauling a wide variety of pumps, motors, gearboxes.
* Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and assembly of pumps and other related rotating equipment.
* Fault-finding on break down equipment.
* Adherence to Health and Safety protocol.
* Complete workshop documentation and pass to Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
* Keeps a clean and tidy work area.
* To be available for call out shift or overtime as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
Skills / Experience Required
* Proven experience within electrical motors, pumps and gearboxes.
* Computer skills required to basic level.
* Knowledge of safety protocols and PPE.
* Team player.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
* Good time keeping skills are essential.
