We are currently recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEND school in Leicester, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with SEND and helping them to thrive in a nurturing and structured environment.
Role
The role involves working alongside teachers and pupils to support learning and development in a structured environment.
Responsibilities
* Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
* Supporting pupils with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
* Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
* Supporting with personal care where required
* Following EHCPs, behaviour plans, and safeguarding procedures
Ideal Candidate
* Passion for working in a SEND setting
* Previous experience working with children with SEND (preferred)
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
* Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
