Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new In-patient Podiatry post at Prince Charles Hospital. The post involves working as part of a dedicated In-patient Foot Service, providing high-quality care, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with acute and limb-threatening foot conditions.
The post holder will work independently as an expert resource, advising on limb-threatening conditions, providing education and support to colleagues, and promoting educational seminars. They will also facilitate the integration of the inpatient foot risk assessment tool.
This is a fixed-term/secondment position until 31st March 2027. Applicants seeking secondment must obtain permission from their current line manager. Welsh language skills are desirable; applications in Welsh or English are accepted.
Main Duties
* Work within the In-patient Foot Service, providing expert assessment and treatment for patients with limb-threatening foot conditions.
* Act as an independent resource and advisor for limb management in hospital settings.
* Provide education and training to colleagues and promote the inpatient foot risk assessment tool.
* Set measures and collect data to demonstrate Value-Based Healthcare benefits and patient outcomes.
* Work autonomously, acting as a link between secondary, outpatient, and community services, including community podiatrists.
* Participate in educational seminars and research activities related to the area.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential: HCPC registration; evidence of Masters level or equivalent postgraduate training relevant to the post.
* Desirable: Independent Prescriber or working towards; HCPC annotation for prescribing and supply of P.O.M.s.
Experience
* Essential: Experience in managing complex foot disease; producing advice and educational material.
* Desirable: Experience in footwear and appliance evaluation.
