The City of Edinburgh Council is a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation committed to making Edinburgh a great place to live, work, and visit. We pride ourselves on our diverse workforce and strive to create an inclusive environment where innovation and excellence thrive. If you are a talented and experienced mechanical surveyor looking to make a significant impact on a vibrant city, we invite you to join our team.
We seek a committed and enthusiastic individual to support Scotland's Capital City in its vision to create a smaller, modern, more efficient, and carbon-neutral property estate. As a Condition Surveyor (Mechanical), you will be a key member of our Strategic Asset Improvement Team, delivering vital technical services to ensure the Council's estate is safe for use, work, and learning.
Your responsibilities will include conducting property-based condition surveys across the Council's operational estate (such as schools, libraries, etc.) to assess the condition of mechanical plant and building services. You will identify necessary improvements to minimize health & safety risks and enhance property performance and lifespan. You will create detailed property condition reports, including estimated remediation costs, and support the development of building improvement plans. Additionally, you will contribute to the Council's strategic property planning, supporting the delivery of the Corporate Property Strategy.
The Council is a leader in low-carbon building design and retrofit, and you will play a key role in advancing energy retrofit initiatives supporting decarbonization efforts across the estate.
Based within Strategic Asset Planning, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from various disciplines, including facilities management and design teams, and liaise with wider Council services.
