Overview
AECOM is seeking an Architecture Director - Data Centres to join our multidisciplinary team working with Data Centre clients across the UK & Ireland and Europe, focusing on Hyperscale and Colocation projects. The role is flexible within the UK/Ireland, with a preference for sourcing near hubs such as Manchester, Dublin, or Belfast. Travel within the UK/Ireland and Europe is required.
Responsibilities
* Lead Designer/Consultant on a portfolio of data centre projects
* Coordinate discipline leads across Architecture and Engineering deliverables
* Lead bids commercially and technically for multi-disciplinary opportunities with key clients
* Ensure internal governance is followed at bid stages and throughout project delivery
* Identify and secure targeted projects and revenue
* Present to clients and prospective clients
* Support other Directors in the sector with internal management and strategy
* Perform general administrative and management duties appropriate to the data centre team
* Oversee design activities and production of design information, maintaining high quality across projects and meeting demanding timelines
* Work with multi-disciplinary design teams, clients and contractors in the UK and Europe, ensuring excellent communication
Qualifications
* Fully Qualified Architect or Technologist (Chartered or equivalent)
* Proven related technical experience, with recent data centre projects
* Experience with various forms of building contracts
* Working knowledge of building systems, regulations and construction types
* IT literate (Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs)
* Ability to manage a busy workload and deadlines
* Work experience within a similar consultancy or relevant business
* Clear work history with proof of professional development and learning
* Ideally based locally to a key office or willing to relocate
