The role
will involve managing projects for the IDT reporting to programme managers and senior project managers, taking responsibility for customer stakeholder relationship, developing follow on business and leading on overall delivery on-site.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting, running and delivering projects on site
2. You will be the main point of contact for the team member who are not located on site
3. Influence and support the autonomising of the underwater ranges
4. Identify, plan and implement actions to positively engage parties with an interest in, or influence over, the project outputs
5. effectively communicate as part of a two-way interaction, using a range of techniques, to ensure the received meaning matches the transmitted meaning
Essential experience of the Project Manager:
6. Project management experience, working on multiple complex projects and any one time.
7. Experience of delivering complex projects while working as part of a team based out of separate locations
8. Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders as well as the wider teams based at other sites
9. Demonstrable capability to International Project Management Association Level C/D
10. Previous experience in working within defence or engineering preferable but not essential
Essential qualifications for the Project Manager:
11. Hold a project management qualification such as APM/PMQ

BUTEC (British Underwater Test & Evaluation Centre) is a specialised facility focused on underwater testing and evaluation. It supports the development and assessment of various maritime systems including submarines, autonomous underwater vehicles and naval munitions. Working towards the advancement of underwater technology including innovations in sonar, navigation and communication systems in real-world scenarios.
