National Business Development Manager Social Housing

The National Business Development Manager role is a key position responsible for establishing, maintaining and growing market share for PPG Architectural Coatings within the Social Housing Sector in the delivery of the total coating solution.
This role adopts a consultative approach to selling, requiring exceptional networking, relationship building and contract management skills to help maintain, secure and grow the Social Housing Sector. A clear understanding of all tender platforms and portals relevant to Social Housing is essential to the role.
Direct management focus will be on the Social Housing Sector, co-ordinating the national effort with assistance of the Trade Direct team members whom have interactions within this sector, this support can be guidance, coaching and where required joint visits.
You will also oversee and develop systems and processes to ensure growth in both the tender and trade Key Account Sector, liaising with all concerned internal and external parties to ensure customer expectations are met within PPG parameters, proposal agreements and schedules for tender agreements and Key Account contracts. A key part of this role will be overseeing further implementation of this sector into our ClientLink CRM system.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Creating, shaping and delivering an annual and quarterly business strategy to ensure sustainable growth and increase market share.
* Driving share growth across all our existing social housing clients by proactively engaging with them, understanding all their organisation’s needs (voids, cyclical maintenance, flame defence, EWI, etc) and mapping out the true 360 opportunity for each. Engaging closely with all internal stakeholders to deliver on these opportunities.
* Driving a pipeline of new business by ensuring that we submit an agreed number of new tenders annually.
* Creating and delivering on a strategy for engaging with smaller regional clients. This will involve working closely with the wider sales organisation.
* Achieve annual sales targets both personal target and market sector target.
* To assist in securing project specifications nationally and regionally with key targeted prospects.
* Nurture and build relationships with Local Authorities and Housing Associations across the UK, working within the Trade Direct team.
* Consult with Marketing to create and implement marketing initiatives when required and also to formulate an annual plan that increases brand awareness and drives new business.
* To be the PPG UK commercial expert for the Social Housing Sector evidenced by a detailed knowledge of key stakeholders and their procurement process, performance, colour and contract needs and pipeline of projects.
* Achieve project specifications nationally and regionally with key targeted prospects.
* Monitor sector performance nationally via ClientLink and provide weekly coordinated feedback to the Specification Controller and management team.
* To oversee the overall process of all tenders, ensuring price changes and submissions are carried out to customer and business expectations.
* Liaise with operational teams to design and maintain the Decorating Allowance Scheme, ensuring operational procedures at store level are implemented at all times.
* Development of relationships with all internal and external stakeholders at a national level.
* Represent PPG as the company’s expert in the market at conferences and events with a presence that clearly communicates our interest, understanding and credibility.
* Use expert knowledge of market needs to advise on future market and product development.
* Actively research and feedback competitor information for future strategic decision making.
REQUIRES:
* Educated to degree standard or qualified through appropriate levels of experience.
* Demonstrable understanding of all aspects of product/service sales and procurement within the UK’s Social Housing Sector.
* A commercial approach to business and the ability to quickly gain in-depth understanding of the company and its operational and sales procedures.
* Ability to prepare reports/ presentations and have excellent presentation skills.
* IT literate
* The ability to analyse and disseminate information in a clear and concise manner under pressure and to deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills
* The ability and motivation to continually develop product and industry knowledge.
* A full UK Driving License
* Ability to travel to industry events and meetings where required.
