Role Description

A Chartered MRCIS Building Surveyor is required to undertake a combination of both project work and a range of professional services across Dorset and the surrounding counties. This will primarily involve inspecting a broad range of residential properties to produce pre‑purchase reports. The role will also be responsible for a variety of other professional and project work, including the delivery of construction projects from inception through to completion. This is a dynamic and hands‑on technical role with a typical day split between the office and being on‑site undertaking inspections.

This role will be responsible for providing both project and professional building surveying services to support the firm’s business objectives including:

* Party Wall
* Condition Surveys / Planned Preventative Maintenance
* Insurance Reinstatement Valuations
* Specification Writing & Contract Administration
* Dilapidations

The role may be expected to undertake other related professional work where they are competent to do so. Candidates with professional experience in related building surveying disciplines are welcome to discuss new areas of work.


Qualifications

* Relevant professional qualification – Chartered member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
* Sound technical knowledge of building construction, maintenance and repair. Experience working with residential buildings is preferable.
* Contract Administration experience with a proven record of successfully delivering construction projects.
* Strong customer service focus and ability to maintain long‑term client relationships.
* Ability to articulate complex information verbally and in written format.
* Flexibility to work individually and as part of a team.
* Full driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for business travel.
* Good communication skills and experience working alongside clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
* Good consulting skills of listening, building trust, and acting to deliver a high‑quality service.
* Knowledge of relevant legislative requirements relating to the role.
