Role Overview
As Kitchen Manager, you will lead a team of 1 Sous Chef and 5 Catering Assistants, providing freshly prepared meals for about 60 boarding students, including breakfast, lunch, supper, and snacks, focusing on from-scratch cooking.
You will manage menu planning, food purchasing, stock control, and contribute to menu development. Responsibilities include maintaining kitchen cleanliness, implementing policies, and ensuring health and safety standards.
Shift Pattern Overview:
* 5 days over 7, alternating shifts between 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and 11:30 AM–7:30 PM.
* Occasional full-day shifts requiring meal service when the Sous Chef is off, with overtime paid or in lieu.
* Typical days off are Friday and Saturday or Sunday and Monday, with every third weekend off.
During non-term times, you will join a larger catering team for private lettings and summer programs, with no split shifts required. Term-time only contracts are also available.

Person Specification
* Excellent culinary skills and experience.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Business management experience in a kitchen environment.
* Passion for food and excellence.
* NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent (desirable).
