Events Manager (Internal Candidates Only)
Salary: £28,500 - £35,625
Hours per week: 35
Location: Hybrid working, head office in Wigston, Leicester (minimum 2 days per week), remainder from home.
About the role
At IOSH, we’re on a mission to raise standards across the health and safety profession. Events are a huge part of how we do that. We’re looking for an experienced Events Manager to project manage and deliver a range of large conferences, webinars/virtual events and coordinate IOSH’s attendance at large exhibitions.
By creating high-quality events, you’ll help our members champion workplace safety and health. When this is done right, it quite literally saves lives. Your work will ensure our global membership stays informed, engaged, and equipped to keep people safe at work every single day.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality events and learning experiences— in-person, virtual, and on-demand— that meet the high standards our members expect.
* Collaborate with volunteers, internal teams, and external partners to turn technical expertise into engaging, life‑saving sessions.
* Take the lead on ensuring every event is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high professional standard.
* Contribute to how we manage event delivery, coming up with ideas that ensure all events are engaging and interactive.
Qualifications
* Event and CPD expertise: Proven track record in end‑to‑end event management, specifically within professional development or membership environments.
* Strong project management: Highly organised and capable of juggling multiple projects and budgets with precision.
* Great communication: Ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders, external agencies, and dedicated volunteers.
* Digital confidence: Understand how to make virtual and on‑demand learning just as impactful as a live conference.
* A knack for problem‑solving: Constantly looking for ways to differentiate offerings and ensure events support IOSH’s wider goals.
* An analytical mind: Uses data to prove the value of events and refine future strategy.
* Membership of, or working towards membership of, a relevant professional body is desirable.
