Job Title: Shift Engineer
Reporting To: Team Leader
Shift: 3-Week Rotation
Pay Rate: £20.04 per hour + 15% shift allowance
PURPOSE OF ROLE
As part of theSiteMaintenance Team, you willbe responsible fordelivering asset availability and reliabilityin order tomaintainsafety,qualityand production across the Worcester Site, through reactive,preventativeand corrective maintenance.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Work on a rotating shift pattern to provide engineering breakdown support for the Site, execute changeovers and continuous improvement activities.
2. Diagnose and overcome operational problems, working with the production team toidentifyroot cause of problems and then suggest and implement improvements to address reliability.
3. Execute PPM tasks and effectively react to unscheduled maintenance requirements withappropriate correctiveaction.
4. Plan,scheduleand agree daily and weekly workload with the Maintenance Manager and Engineering Team Leader.
5. Update the Engineering Team Leader to reorder spare parts used to ensure stick levels are maintenance and to control spares in an efficient manner.
6. Actively look for areas of improvement and put forward ideas to improve PPM’s, Store Management, Maintenance Day activities and alternative efficient equipment / processes.
7. Takes pride inmaintainingthe standards in and around own working area and any areas ofallocatedownership.
8. Ensures company policies and procedures are always adhered to, and quality, safety, performance, and attendance standards are maintained.
9. Support the technical upskilling programme of the Production Operators (changeovers, shut down and CIP procedures.)
10. Understand andoperateproduction equipment and CIPprocedures to provide operator cover to an absolute minimum.
11. Takes responsibility for safe operation, fault finding and maintenance of all machinery, as well as own personal safety, and the safety of colleagues.
12. Able to understand and deliver company and best practice quality standards.
13. Has effective communication with all employee’s ensuring information is communicated effectively and concisely presenting recommendations,plansand decisions in a clear and logical manner.
14. Utilises the allotted time to carry out detailed handovers, ensuring all relevant information is requested and given.
15. Any otherreasonable requests made by theMaintenance Manageror Site Leadership Team.
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
This opportunity is open to apprentice graduates or candidates with awareness of a food manufacturing environment.
16. Multi-skilled with strong mechanical knowledge and competent electrical knowledge.
17. Experience of fault finding within electrical systems with PLC appreciation.
18. Experience of predictive / preventative maintenance techniques and routines.
19. Demonstrated ability for problem solving.
20. A team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
21. Self-motivated with a desire for continual personal development.
22. Knowledge of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Systems and Procedures.
The below are desirable but not essential for the role.
23. HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
24. Experience of SAP.
25. TIG Welding experience.
