About The Role
We’re now looking for a Housing Officer (Supported Living) to join our team on a fixed-term basis. If you’re organised, proactive, have your own vehicle, and are ready to support the care and wellbeing of our tenants, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a fixed-term role for up to 12 months, working 36.25 hours per week. The position is based in the Leyland offices with agile working across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Leeds & Cheshire. You’ll primarily work from home, with travel required for property visits, training, and team meetings.
If you’re already part of Progress Housing Group, this opportunity can also be considered as an internal secondment.
This varied and challenging role combines time spent out visiting properties and tenants with administration. You’ll build relationships with tenants and agencies, ensuring properties are safe, well-maintained, and tenants are happy.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct property visits (at least twice yearly) to check condition, maintenance, repairs, and health & safety.
* Manage sign‑ups and terminations for tenants.
* Address anti‑social behaviour and tenancy management issues.
* Support tenants with additional needs (learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions) in partnership with support providers.
* Liaise with external agencies and maintain accurate records.
You’ll be working across a range of supported living properties, from one‑bed flats to shared houses, supporting adults with varied disabilities and needs.
Essential: What We Are Looking For
* Good standard of education (GCSEs or equivalent) or equivalent experience, with strong IT and computer literacy skills.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
* Understanding of learning disabilities and autism.
* Experience within housing management.
* Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
Desirable
* Housing‑related qualifications.
* Experience in specialised supported housing.
* Experience working in an agile way.
* Experience of accurate record keeping.
You’ll also need to be positive, friendly, self‑motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
