Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Falkirk, is currently looking to recruit a Catering Assistant for up to 2 months with potential to extend on a rate of £13.54/ hour PAYE – working 27.5 hours (Mon – Fri, 9.00 – 3.00, inc. 30 min break) per week.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare counters and foodstuffs according to direction.
- Clean and set up restaurant areas.
- Stock up and replenish service points as required, and complete relevant documentation.
- Liaise with staff, students and members of the public as required.
- Clear away used plates, utensils, trays and wipe down tables and working surfaces during and after service periods.
- Clean service equipment and kitchen areas including floors during and after service periods.
- Cash handling at tills when directed.
- Vending Machines - maintain supplies, clean machines and collect cash as directed.
- Compile Hygiene Control sheets as directed.
- Comply with Catering Service policies and procedures and statutory hygiene regulations.
- Undertake other such duties as may be required, as appropriate to the scope and grading of the post.
- Undertake general kitchen duties as required.
Essential Skills:
- Elementary Food hygiene certificate or prepared to gain within 3 months of commencing post.
- Knowledge of Food Hygiene best practice
- Food preparation skills.
- Minimum of one year working in a catering environment or similar including front of house experience.
- Experience of providing good customer service.
- Ability to communicate satisfactorily verbally to customers.
