We have an exciting opportunity to join our Outstanding Nursery on initially a six month's probationary contract. (This will be extended for the right candidate.) The job will be approximately hours per week with additional hours available. Hours may vary each month, between the times of Monday - Friday.
The role will include:
Ensuring a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children who attend Little Tinklers
Supporting planning, implementation and assessments based on Ofsted guidance, the EYFS and our Hygge approach to learning
Developing and maintaining strong and positive relationships with children and their parents/ carers
General Duties:
· To ensure that each child's happiness and welfare is priority. To supervise, educate, communicate, observe and care for the children at all times. To display patience, empathy and trustworthiness.
· To maintain and manage accurate and individual children's 'I Am Special' books, observations, reports, next steps and parent consultations
· To work with parents / carer's to help children to settle into Nursery and ensure positive relationships are developed
· To provide a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment. To ensure high standards of environment, resources and experiences are offered to children, inside and outdoors
· To undertake certain domestic jobs within the setting to ensure the smooth running of the Nursery
· To develop and participate in training, including staff meetings, welfare refreshers, specific training and keeping abreast of new and current practice
· To undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the Nursery
· To be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures
· To ensure good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
· To wash and change children according to policies and procedures
· To ensure all paperwork is completed, such as accident / incident reports, sleep and nappy sheets, medicine and existing injury records, etc
· To actively promote and support safeguarding of children in the Nursery, ensuring all staff, students and volunteers adhere to policies and procedures to keep children safe from harm
· To ensure the smooth transition of the children to the next group, sharing relevant information
· To ensure mealtimes are a pleasant, social time, encouraging table manners and conversation
· To usually attend and be fully involved with special events, such as trips, sports day, Christmas play, open days, parties, fundraising and any other event which may or may not take place within usual working hours. To be flexible with working arrangements, shift cover and contingency support if required
· To present excellent communication and organisational skills. To be efficient, expressive and creative. To be practical and enjoy bring outdoors
· To look upon the Nursery as a whole ; ensuring your skills and help are used effectively and to be constantly aware of the needs of the children
· To ensure confidentiality of information received
· To answer telephone queries and deal with these appropriately
· To pro-actively promote the Nursery and advance it's interests in the local community. To be an ambassador of Little Tinklers and uphold high standards and professionalism at all times

Pay: From £12.32 per hour
