Overview
CAMHS Urgent Care Acute Liaison Practitioner - Band 6. 12-month fixed-term/secondment vacancy for a Band 6 Clinical Practitioner to join the RISE Crisis Acute Liaison Team based within the A&E department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) during a pilot service period. We are seeking clinicians with CAMHS crisis/acute experience who are motivated to make a real difference.
Be part of shaping a brand-new service that supports children and young people in crisis at the front door of care in the Children’s Accident and Emergency Department at UHCW. Work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment across urgent care and CAMHS, with a focus on timely, compassionate care for vulnerable children and young people.
Responsibilities
* Assess children and young people referred to the service within the RISE urgent care umbrella.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams and external agencies to ensure coordinated, holistic, and effective care pathways.
* Contribute to shaping and developing the new CAMHS Acute Liaison service from the ground up, influencing service design and delivery.
* Provide timely, compassionate care and maintain a high standard of clinical practice in a fast-paced acute setting.
* Work within a 12-hour service model across 7 days per week at UHCW, with the flexibility to cover shifts including weekends.
* Communicate effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and partner with other teams and services, including the Acute Trust hospital.
Essential Skills And Experience
* Professional registration in mental health nursing, social work, or an allied health profession.
* Demonstrable clinical experience in CAMHS crisis or acute care.
* Strong assessment and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

The service has been rated Good by the CQC with Outstanding care and compassion. Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of expanding mental health and learning disability services across multiple sites in Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.
Additional Information
The Band 6 posts require flexibility to reflect the service needs, including weekend shifts at UHCW. Staff work across CALT (CAMHS Acute Liaison Team) services year-round.
